Yes, a crazy situation in this digital world. They still only check the passport photo when you go through immigration.

 

OP, remember if the family is with you they can all go through the Aussie passport line, not with all of the others.

I have a Aussie passport Is it now required for Nationals or only those on a Visa, Not been home in a while hence the question

You will find that when you renew your passport you will be required to do the biometrics then so that it can be linked to your passport

Surely you're not that naive to think thats the only thing they check in the digital world!

Thanks - helpful. Last time terrible queue and with twin infants , was hard

Then at customs exit had a bunch of Indians who had never learnt to queue - ripped them a new rear end and got called a racist - go figure
