Nordude
I need to send a parcel from Norway to Thailand using general mail. The problem is that I don't yet have a permanent address in Thailand. I understand that I can write Poste Restante as receiver like this, and they will keep it at the main post office in Bangkok: Mr. John DOEPoste RestanteGeneral Post OfficeCharoen Krung Rd.Bangkok 10500 THAILAND Norway post states on their webpage that there is no parcel tracking for worldwide shipping. How can I know when the parcel is ready for collection in Bangkok?
theguyfromanotherforum
Well, you don't know if it's ready. You may only have a 2 week window before mail is returned to sender. Why bother.

Extra baggage with Thai Airways costs 44 GBP per kg. DHL is also too expensive. I don't have enough stuff to fill a container. AirBnB or apartment for the first month. But I read that the delivery time may exceed four weeks for a standard mail parcel.

scubascuba3
Better if you book a place to stay in advance and use that as the address, especially if its boxes

Email them on [email protected] see their website or call them on (+47) 21 31 62 60 Typically when an inbound package clears Thai Customs, it is trackable on Thailand Posts tracking website using the original 3rd party issued tracking number.
