Bangkok Bank tried to get me to sign up to Life Assurance program today, sounds quite interesting however very cautious about it.

 

Bangkok Bank Gain 1st 760
Annual Premium for 6 yrs : 200,000 THB
Annual Cash Return for 15 yrs: 20,305 THB 
Maturity Benefit after 15yrs : 1,258,885 THB 

 

The other benefit is that 20,000 THB of this is tax deductible each year.

 

So basically it costs 1,200,000 THB and you get back 1,543,155 THB in 15yrs time and 120,000 in tax benefits.

You are committed to paying for 15 years.  If you don't you only get part of your money back.  That's what the bank is counting on.

The premiums are only payable for first 6 years, totaling 1.2m THB. At 15yrs maturity you will have received 1.54m THB from annual cash benefits and lump sump payment
