Orthopedic surgean recommendation Chiang Mai.

Featured Replies

Orthopedic surgeon recommendation Chiang Mai.

Slipped on wet steps at work, put my hand down to catch my fall and heard a pop in my shoulder and severe pain and could not lift my arm.
They took me to RAM where the doctor showed me the x-rays.  Ball in shoulder broken and another bone.

He said I had 3 options.
1.  Wear a sling and let the bones heal but will have limited mobility when healed.
2.  plates and screws.  However he said I had osteoporosis and the screws may not hold.
3.  Ball replacement with titanium one, best option he said for future mobility cost around 300k Baht.

He said he had no problems if I wanted a 2nd opinion and a different doctor for the surgery.

Any recommendations in Chiang Mai prefer from experience and cost?

get a second opinion in Bangkok

Unfortunately the pain is too much to handle a trip like that.

Sorry for delay in replying.

Dr Chanakarn Phornphutkul

At Rajavej Hospital and also at Bangkok Hospitl (former is cheaper)

He also has his own private clinic, see this thread for directions. But as Xrays and possibly scans may be needed, might do better to see him at one of those 2 hospitals
