A female motorbike driver has died after she lost control of her vehicle and collided with two cars on Patong Hill early Sunday (July 1).

Kathu Police were notified of the accident on a curve on Phra Baramee Road at 4am.

Police and rescue workers arrived at the scene to find a Honda motorbike, whose driver was later identified as 32 year old Tippawan Sangmanee from Loei, northeast of Thailand. Ms Tippawan was taken to Patong Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

10 to 1 she wasn't wearing a helmet.  Article doesn't say, but that's my guess.

Not necessarily. They tend to wear them in the rain to keep the hair dry.

That would be an each way bet I suppose, only there wont be a return journey now

i see many going way too fast on that hill wth many sharp curves. most have no helmet and some no lights.

not necessarily, they tend to hold an umbrella  in one hand and the other holds the handlebars........until, the phone rings

I doubt she cares whether she is 10:1 or odds on. RIP to her

I find it helps to do the caring before the event

At 4am what's the betting she was a wee bit "over-served" too !

Seems road condition, weather wise, may have contributed to bike instability.

"she lost control of her motorbike and skid 50 metres along the road "

Perhaps going a bit too fast for existing road conditions!

I've personally seen a number of motorbikes that go down in wet conditions and with a wet surface and gravity, a 50 metre slide is easily possible even at relatively low speeds as there is very limited friction on a wet slippery surface.
