If the kids dive with 2 divers each, they're going to need 26 divers, not 18...

It took a pg for this to pop up

So that will mean a delay of 6 hrs for the rest due to a return trip

Left around 11 am / 6 hrs in = 5 pm / 5 hrs out = around 10 pm not forgetting set up time & comforting them for journey out

So the boys know what it will entail

Sorry to say but they don't, they will find out the hard way. Telling a story and doing something are to completely different things. They can be determent but still panic at a certain stage.

Divers have begun an operation to try to extract the 13 survivors out of Tham Luang cave, chief of the rescue mission Narongsak Osotthanakorn announced at 10.30 am this morning.

“Today is D-Day,” he said, adding that 13 international cave divers and 5 Navy SEAL members have gone into the cave to bring out the survivors.

He said the rescue operation began at 10.00 am and the survivors will be brought out in what is known as a “buddy dive” in which each of the survivors will be escorted by two rescue divers.

He told a news briefing that the first survivor should be brought out by 9 pm tonight.

I am praying to the ALMIGHTY for the safety of the boys, their coach and all the rescuer. God please help them all to go through this ordeal safely.

“I can confirm the 13 survivors are more than ready, physically and mentally. They’re determined and well aware of the evacuation procedures. Everyone is ready to come home with us, no matter what they have to face,” Narongsak told reporters.

Their families had been informed of the plan before the evacuation began and agreed with the authorities’ decision.

According to authorities, rescuers could take two to three days to bring out the boys and their coach, depending on the weather and water levels inside the cave complex. The operation will continue until all the 13 survivors are safely brought out.

Update: 18 of the best foreign cave divers are inside, one per child.

From chamber 3, it is now walkable all the way out. The currents are actually helping, pushing in the right direction, thus reducing the swimming efforts...

Well this makes more sense 1 per child

& yes they had the currents to their advantage going out hence 6 hrs in 5 out

It will take more time because many stops on the way have been planned for the children to relax, eat, drink and so on...

Probably more than that, I'd expect them to assign coordinators/managers to every bottleneck. Making sure resources such as light, guide ropes, spare tanks, drugs, food and drink remain available and avoiding having more than one team at a time in each critical passage.

Is there a TV thread that just have the news feeds without all the prayers and other nonsense?

I don't think prayers and expressing other positive feelings are "nonsense" but try CNN International; they are transmitting intermittent live feeds from Mae Sai, and seem to be providing responsible coverage for English followers.
