Joining me in my hunt in another topic for a recent Royal Decree about foreigners working in Thailand, our member Davedub found this Royal Decree published in Thai the Government Gazette on 27 March 2018, amending Section 12(3) and Section 37(1) of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979):

http://www.krabiimmigration.go.th/book/2-e2.html

The Google translation, which I find completely useless, gives the new texts as follows:

Quote

Section 12

(3) come to work forbidding aliens to comply with the law governing the work. Of the alien

Section 37

(1) not working or working Except as permitted by law. The business of the alien or the law governing the management of the work of the alien

The old texts are as follows in the current unofficial English translation available on http://www.krisdika.go.th:

Quote

Section 12

(3) Entering the Kingdom to earn livelihood as a labourer or to be hired to do
physical work and not skilled, or technical work, or to do other works in violation of alien
working laws.

Section 37

(1) Not engage in an occupation or employment except with permission from
the Director-General or the competent official designated by the Director-General. In a case
where there is alien working law providing otherwise, the permission shall have to be by
virtue of that law.

Same with the new Immigration website.

They appear to have someone changing text which makes no sense when translated.

Quote

1.1.1 form 86. Only alien Visa and Transit Visa Tourist, to request a different type of visa or
1.2 model 87. Only the alien does not have a visa to live in Britain category. 15, Director Director ผผ ผผ, 30, and 90-30.. to obtain exemption

What the <deleted> does not having a Visa to live in Britain have to do with anything.

If you go to the english version on the site it says this.

Quote

1.2 Form TM.87 for the foreigner, who enters into Thailand without visa, but is allowed to stay in Thailand with a permit of stay for a period of 15 day, 30 days, 90 days and applies for non-immigrant visa.

When using Google translate for the Thai version I get " 1.2 Form 87 only for aliens who do not have a visa but are permitted to stay in the Kingdom. 15, P30, D30 and D90 for visa application.".
