Interior Minister General Anupong Paochinda said the head of the rescue mission will have the final say on the timing to evacuate the 9 footballers still stranded in the Tham Luang cave.

Anupong said he had been informed that the rescue mission held a meeting to evaluate the situation on Monday morning to plan the next round of evacuation.

He said the mission must be given the full authority to make its own decision regarding timing because diving into the cave needed time and it would also need preparation of equipment, such as placing oxygen tanks at various spots.

Fair enough. The logistics of such an operation, which can allow for zero errors, are very complicated. It is better to take your time and do it right, rather than be hasty. They have done brilliantly so far and rushing things would not be smart, regardless of what the rain is doing.

Wise decision. Let competence rule.

And most important (and not always the case, especially in this part of the world) - delegate the authority to those closest to the scene and best qualified.

It is very reassuring that this has been done. Bravo - and fingers crossed for the remainder of the operation.

I'm sure the highly experienced divers know exactly how to go about the rescue operation, without some suit sitting in his plush leather chair talking about something he knows absolutely nothing about.

This "suit" sitting in his plush leather chair seems to be doing just that - letting the experts on the ground get on with it.

Much to my surprise I must admit - but credit where it is due...

He's just there to make official announcements, it seems. There was a lot of confusion in the media yesterday about home many kids got out of the cave. It was the mayor who gave the official announcement.

good. That means you and all the other politicians/military generals/police generals can stay out of the way now...

It's the 13 expert foreigner divers conducting the rescue, that's kinda obvious.

Let the Thai's save face however possible.

Timing is critical!

VIPs and high government officials must be present when additional boys are recovered from the cave.

Smartest thing they can do is let the person in charge make the decision. Finally no posturing, let the person that is totally engaged rather than those who have an another agenda.

Good job , but still one confusing question [emoji23] why making 13 boys heroes ? I think these 13 boys are lucky only get back alive .
Real heroes who rescue them .
