Amazing! They made it, but after the first day we all know they would. They showed they could be trusted from start.

Thanks for all the great reporting!

We just had a visit from the village head complete with bottle of "alcoholic beverage".

"Angrit number one, thankyou". The fact that I don't dive and we're nowhere near Tham Luang made no difference whatever, "Angrit find boys, Angrit number one". He just wanted to thank the only Brit he knows.

So here we are with a glass of "alcoholic beverage" with ice and soda toasting every single member of a truly international rescue team (cue Thunderbirds music).

And why the flip is this miserable old git tearing up?

Amongst   all  the krap  he  has found a Thai reason to  be  proud an  grateful.

Not anesthetized but given a mild tranquilizer - but remember the source of this info. We may get something more accurate from the hospital or the Governor later.

Fantastic result.

I am just waiting to see what political capital is going to attempt to be made, and by whom?

Not at all to detract from the amazing effort, not the least down to one Governor's willingness to accept the limitations of "his" team and actively seek help from the right places, I can't help but feel that there are going to be lots and lots of photo ops for the little general and his ilk.

Time will tell.

I hope they let the boys and coach have time to come to terms with their deliverance first.

It is, for the Thai seals, a steep learning curve.

Hope they will continue learning cavediving from the Masters.

These people are very much needed.

The Thai army/navy should send these guys out to train.

There it is again. That attitude that foreigners are somehow better. They just can't let it go.

"for the Thai navy seals, a steep learning curve"

"continue to learn cave diving from the masters"

"send these guys out to train"

They just pulled out 13 boys from this cave, we don't even know anything about what was involved!

What we do know is that it was an amazing international effort to pull this off! Including the Royal Thai Navy Seals who I am sure could show you up for a fool on a multitude  of things!

Foreign journalist has been detained for flying a drone near the cave entrance area. Bad idea

Slightly ambiguous Elvis..... if you mean flying the drone was a bad idea, couldn't agree more! However detaining the dangerous idiot, and hopefully deporting him is, IMO, an excellent idea.

Freedom of the Press is one thing, but that sort of action.......no way!

Here's just a little poem I wrote . . .

Definitely better than mine...

Thailand's fine boys sat in a cave,
Thailand's fine boys needed a save,
All the world's divers and all the world's tanks,
got em out fast for which we say thanks!

It seems that the whole 'Wild Boar 13" are all going to come out of this alive and well.

Their families, the Nation and people around the world are joyous.

Please spare a thought at this time for the family of Samarn Kunan who lost his life in this endeavour.

There is a sombre aspect to what has happened here that should not be forgotten.

There are many heroes who deserve praise for their bravery, none more so than the man who lost his life trying to save the team.
