‘Tom Yum’ Attire Wins Best Costume At Miss Grand Thailand Pageant

BANGKOK — A bowl of classic spicy shrimp soup won people’s hearts for best national costume in this year’s Miss Grand Thailand.

 

Representing Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Thai-American Tasana “Tangmo” Manso took home the Best National Costume trophy and a 100,000 baht reward Saturday night.

That must have been a close call to win over the top-seeded favorites. Besides military and civil servant uniforms, I thought these are the "official" best national costumes:

 

      

She does look kind of elegant though. Some of the floats fabricated are pretty wacky, world wide.
