July 16, 20187 yr Hello, I have saw so many posts, and different information regarding this topic. Some are saying you require more documentation than others. I will be applying from inside Thailand. Unfortunately my very smart girlfriend has misplaced her original birth certificate. We are not married, so also have no marriage certificate. She was born quite far from where we stay now and time limitations restrain us from obtaining a new birth certificate for her. From what I picked up on the direct gov website, I need my baby's birth certificate (translated), my birth certificate, my parents birth certificate/passports, proof we stay in Thailand (tabien baan (translated)), and written permission from the mother saying the baby can obtain a passport. Has anyone managed to obtain a passport with the minimal document criteria, or would mind sharing a definitive list of what they provided, or any advice regarding mrs organised not having her birth certificate, could I submit a different document instead? Thanks in advance
July 16, 20187 yr I obtained UK passport for my daughter recently. The Thai mother's birth certificate was not required. I provided her Thai passport and ID.
July 16, 20187 yr You haven't mentioned whether your name is on the birth certificate as the father. If it is not then it will mean a court case and DNA tests etc to have your name put on the birth certificate. If it is already on there then it should be straightforward with all the documents that you have mentioned. Just a thought though.....why are you worrying about other peoples posts....just ask the Embassy what they require and supply it....simple. I expect different Embassies have different requirements which could also be why you are reading varying posts. Go to the UK website and supply what they want. HL

Thanks, did you provide a marriage certificate though? If not can you remember a list of the documents you sent? 16 minutes ago, happylarry said: You haven't mentioned whether your name is on the birth certificate as the father. I've already contacted them and they were not much help. I've already went on their site and looked at what they want but it just seems so little compared to what other people have sent for their application.
July 17, 20187 yr No I am not married. I can't remember all the documents but it included my long forms UK birth certificate, child's birth cert, child's Thai passport, tabien Baan, mother's ID and Thai passport. My parents birth certificates were not required. I used an agent (Key Visa) and they did all the work and translations. Their website has a list of required docs.
