Vernon Unsworth blasted Elon Musk's offer to help as just a 'PR stunt'

 

THE elderly mum of Brit cave hero Vern Unsworth says tech billionaire Elon Musk should be shot for falsely branding her son a paedo.

 

Musk let rip at the cave expert on Twitter after he branded the tycoon's offer to build a mini submarine to free the trapped Thai schoolboys a PR stunt.

 

The Tesla boss has since apologised to 63-year-old Unsworth, but his mum has clearly not forgiven Musk for what he said about her son.

 

When asked about the "paedo" slur, Vera Unsworth, 88, said: “That’s stupid, that is the last thing he is. It’s disgusting, absolutely disgusting that.

Vern, being interviewed after the feel good moment of the year, a time for back slapping and mutual celebration, was asked about Musk. He went right to suggesting sexual violence upon him and questioned his character. When what he could have done was to say was to say, Musk was a little to late to the party but we got on without him. I don't feel bad for Vern in the slightest. It was his own crassness and arrogance that brought this trouble out of a truly great moment in human cooperation. A story with no losers, until Vern needed to lift his leg and mark some territory.

But now seeing his mother's reaction, I can see where he gets his prickly disposition.

But didn't he say he doesn't dive, so how is he qualified to say whether it would work or not 

maybe Musk was late, maybe it wouldn't work, but at least came up with an alternative method  if needed

He hasn't got a mum, he was created in a lab as were all his children.

You can always rely on The Sun, to stir the pot. I had hoped we had seen the back of this little spat of nastiness. Neither Vern or Elon has commented again in recent days, so maybe others should follow that example and let it rest. No good will come from stirring it further.

Geez... Musk's comments were without a doubt defamatory, but this old lady's comments are (IMHO) quite over the top. Did she raise her son with such a temperament of anger?

Sounds like Mr Unsworth's mom didn't educate her son very well in the manners book.  Well, here we go. Now Unsworth gets to shoot and kill Musk because Musk verbally defended himself against Unsworth's verbal and abusive assault.  Sounds about right.

 

I would say Unsworth is lucky he doesn't live in the USA. Yesterday in Florida a man got shot and killed after he pushed (assaulted) a man who had told his gf they were parked in a handicap zone.  The guy was afraid for his life, took out a registered gun and using the FL "defend your ground" law shot the guy. No charges.

 

I suggest and have suggested Mr Unsworth brought this whole debacle upon himself for no reason whatsoever that makes any sense. He lied about it being a PR stunt (Musk was asked to help), he lied when he said the sub did not work (it does) and he suggested Musk assault himself with his sub. 

 

Unsworth also posed for the taping his shoe photo that got worldwide recognition so he is a phony hypocrite. He took credit for helping to save the kids when he wasn't even a diver.  

 

Musk as a globally recognized person should not have used the term, Pedo. He has apologized. Unsworth has not.

 

I hope Unsworth sues and Musk countersues.  Should be fun.

Quite amazing to me how the guy who picked the fight and threw the first punch is now the victim.  And my mom would have washed my mouth out with soap after my dad gave me the belt for saying what Unsworth said.  Lies did not go over well with my old man.

What is Vern doing? From day one of the 'pedo guy' scandal he should have got a lawyer and sued straight away. Kept his cool, kept a low profile, stayed in Chiang Rai and given no interviews without his lawyers advice. He could of made a few million usd. Now, he's left it too late and the public and media are moving on to the next story. Your 15 minutes of fame are nearly over Vern. Wave bye bye to that retirement money.

i hardly think saying someone "should be shot" is the epitome of anger.

Where come and grew up blooming heck if you took offence when people said they could/would shoot someone you would be very thin skinned

Why did he also not add that the people who wanted to drill a shaft or leave the boys there till christmas were also a waste of space. Musk tried and he should be commended for that. Vern is just a sour tempered old grump, jealous of Musk's money and status.

Thats not the point. It was the BS about being called a pedo because Vern is an older guy living in Thailand. I agree that Vern shouldnt have slagged off Musk originally but Pedo accusations are particularly vile if untrue.
