If in real pain, would you go to Pattaya City or Memorial?

I have never read so many negative reviews of a hospital as I have about Pattaya City. Search google if you want to see for yourself. Memorial doesn't seem far behind.

Having only a pedal bike and living within 2 minutes of Pattaya City, this may be bad news for me some day. I don't have any conditions but accidents happen to everyone, especially in a party town.

Would you guys go to these hospitals if you feel seriously and suddenly ill or had a bad accident? Or would you jump in a taxi and head to Bangkok hospital pattaya or another reputed one (I don't know what else is around)?

I felt so much more confident about the BKK hospitals myself (I lived there years ago).

But a 2+ hour ride when you have say a high fever that may be life threatening? Or a couple broken legs after a bad accident (this exact thing happened to a friend of a friend. He was a pedestrian and a high powered motorbike lost control)

My answer depends on whether you have appropriate insurance.

Didn't like the look of Pattaya City on entry and possible waiting time.

Memorial was ok for when it came to treatment. Practitioner was good. Support staff sometimes lose track.

Bangkok Pattaya....it's clearly a business. They have a way of doing business that I don't particularly like.

So if you are paying for yourself; Memorial.

You didn't mention Pattaya International. Don't have recent experience with them, so can't compare.

Memorial is OK. if not major trauma, but definitely first choice if serious emergency is BPH. Can always relocate to cheaper one of choice in other city after being stabilized.

Also must say, had several serious cases I helped out over the years and Memorial did well enough. If no money or insurance Banglamung. Lots of experience and cheap. Yes, hospitals in BKK are different. More pleasant. Some cheaper. Hearing only good things about about BNH from friends. Personally prefer BKK General Hospital. Regards. MS

That's the one I use if I cant be bothered to drive to Sri Racha.

Seems to be a halfway house between City/Memorial and BPH, and a reasonable compromise.

I walked out of Pattaya City hospital when I went in for something trivial.  Admittedly it was high season but it was like a meat factory and the staff were surly (probably over worked/under resources).

Subsequent to that  when I needed stitches followed a minor m/cycle incident (very close to Pattaya City hospital) I chose International. My experience was very favorable and I have continued to use them.

Are they public hospitals ?

Banglamung and Pattaya City yes. All the others mentioned are private.

You still have to pay for treatment/medicine at the first 2 but not as much as at the private hospitals.
