I'm an American married to a Thai woman but we only did the Buddah ceremony. We had a daughter. I'd like to register our baby with the American embassy and get her a passport. I'm heading to BKK in a few weeks and fear I won't have the proper paperwork. I will be taking a copy of the birth certificate that has my name as the father as well as a copy of my wifes ID card. Do I need anything else?

as i understand it the children of u.s. citizens born on land air or sea are considered u.s. citizens however you will need to prove that you are an american citizen who lived in the states for something like 8 years hence they may ask for your school records etc...
