Beginning? Not exactly difficult spotting some Nationalist Hard Brexiteers from the off, reviving old C20 fantasies of selecting others for kicking and eventually worse.

Maybe we should have a referendum on this, the two questions could be.

1. Do we let people kick us whilst we are down.

2. Do we show some pride and fight back.

Surprisingly that would not be a difficult choice for most people. ????

Ha ha ha, love the brexiteers claiming the result of a democratic vote, means you can never have another vote on the issue.    Why would you deny the people a vote on what brexit ultimately

  • the people didn't vote for a deal they voted to leave and that is what should have happened, all this deal stuff is outside the scope of leaving - it confused the issue.   Talks on a trade d

Maybe an election or vote of some kind?

Whether their minds will be concentrated by the implications of bringing down May, followed by an election returning Labour and a subsequent softer Brexit, well; tea or coffee may be an easier decision for some of the HB numbskulls.

I always liked British comedy. And this Brexit shambles sure has a high entertainment value (for an outsider).

If want to know what a numbskull is, listen to the remainer in the background and enjoy another great speech from JRM.

Dominic Raab has resigned. Because of the crappy Brexit deal he was instrumental in negotiating...

Ha ha i think he resigned because he was NOT instrumental in negotiating it. It was done by Oily behind everyone's back. Apparently one of Raab's own civil servants worked on the deal without telling him.

So it’s finally dawned on you that you are not going to get the Brexit you were promised (just like we’ve been trying to explain to you these past two years or more).

Now you only need to come to terms with the fact you swallowed the Brexit lies hook line and sinker.

I wish you well in your difficult journey back to the fact based universe.

So why didn’t he resign immediately after he saw someone else is negotiating something that he will be held responsible for?

An attempt by the government to influence parliamentary procedure in their favour has failed.

The influential Procedure Committee, which has been considering how to ensure MPs are given a “meaningful vote” on the proposed deal, slapped down ministers’ plan to change normal parliamentary procedures to make it harder for the Commons to bind Theresa May’s hands.

I appreciate it’s been a tough day but I think we should all recognise that we’ve hit a Brexit event-horizon - from here on in things will just get worse - until or unless we stop this madness once and for all: until then this is going to get very, very bad indeed. Sorry.

Nothing has finally dawned on anybody, leavers have been saying that PM May is totally useless for two years now, given the task she had to perform, she has failed very badly. She is a remainer and has not come up with her promises she made at the general election about leaving the EU.

This Hotel California Brexit Deal is dead in the water, I think everybody would agree on that, so the chances of it being voted for by Parliament looks very doubtful indeed. The EU leaders have recently stated that they will not accept another Brexit deal, so where does this leave the UK, I would suggest only one conclusion.

But Brexit has more twists and turns than a cheap garden hose, so who knows, I suggest nobody at the moment.

That quote is part of Chris Patten's speech, in which he also says,

"At present, people are feeling sullen and alienated from the EU not just in Britain, but more widely". Mr.Patten offers various reasons for this. The fundamental one is a lack of democratic underpinning.

I think she's doing a great job, and driving Brexit forward in a careful and judicious manner that will allow a safe, responsible and honourable exit.

One day we'll look back and say "for a woman, she's parked that Brexit Bus remarkably well" and all its passengers will be able to safely alight and carry on their business.

All the people shouting at her to go faster towards the cliff have been watching too much Quadrophenia.  Better to take a Summer Holiday - at least Cliff could drive a bus.

It's a bit like the Italian Job really.  The bus is hanging over the cliff, and we're all going to have to get off and let it go, and we'll all be worse off for that, but not so badly off as if we'd stayed on the bus.

What was the film where they made the stolen gold into Eiffel Towers? The Lavender Hill Mob. (This internet thing is fantastic!)  That was a bit entente cordial

Quite.  I've been saying since the beginning of this fiasco that politicians don't want brexit, and so will be looking for a brexit in name only deal - that manages to avoid seriously annoying the electorate.

They've failed - as it's so obvious they've made virtually no attempt at genuinely negotiating from the very start.

What will happen next is anybody's guess, but I'm pretty sure the electorate are even more disillusioned and unhappy about their politicians.....

next?

agree with Mr JRM that this deal is not what was expected, it doesn't compare well with what Cameron said or TM said

while the deal was under development

next: will TM survive internal Tory upheaval

next: will deal survive high level EU get together

next: will deal survive UK parliament

That reminded me. This thread is now 560 pages long. In a week or two, it has reached the full lenght of the Brexit deal of 585 pages.

Let the People decide

Lets have four referendums for the price of one...

Part 1

The negotiated deal: Accept or Reject

Part 2

If the negotiated deal is rejected: No deal brexit or Remain

Part 3

Can Corbyn have his General Election: Yes/No

Part 4

Should TM remain as PM: Yes/No

Houses of Parliament...or is it Fawlty Towers we are watching?

Bill got the correct response from a remainer. This is the stuff nation building is done from.

Don't blame for yourself. Blame the people who lied.
