Never see you in the North- East.

AT least it is better to come to Chiang Mai, than not at all

Or you could go to Bangkok

The British embassy does not support there people

IMHO

Hope the Au Embassy staff have a most pleasant stay, and compile their claim forms for travel & expenses. Heaven forbid if they have to do any 'work'. Can't have any breaking in tradition on these rorts!

Not sure where your thinking is

A bit disappointing to hear this statement

We are lucky they come up

If they did not we would have to travel to Bangkok

This would cost us more money

Plus we are lucky they now come up more often

Than they used to come up

I doubt that they would rort on such a small outreach  visit

After all they are here for such a small time

Most of the costs would be paid by the Embassy

This is not a normal overnight stay from Bangkok

IMHO

Why do they only do CM. Why not Khon Kaen  & other larger centres..

RORT: The practice of government employees sucking the system, for all they CAN. What are the chances that their housing is subsidised? Travel money? Posh hotels...…….gimme a break

Agree .As Aussies we are indeed forunate they come to CM where in a world where our respective countries are on  money saving missions ,outsourcing services and selling their properties if they can.The last Australian passport I got proved to be very expensive. A return flight to Bangkok when "specials" were not on , a night out with former colleagues until 3am and a terrible "Chang draught " hangover when now I could just roll up in CM at maybe a cost of a coffee.

I would think it logical

Chiang Mai and the Northern Area has over 2000 Aussies living up here

Khon Kaen is closer to Bangkok than Chiang Mai

Maybe those areas do not have so many people living their

You can go to Bangkok quicker and cheaper than us or anyone living up further Chaing Rai Or Mai Sae

We are lucky they come about every 2 months

It was 3 months before
