A mass prayer ceremony was held this morning (August 22) at Saphan Hin for victims of the Phoenix boat disaster, marking 49 days since the tragedy.

The government held the ceremony to acknowledge the Chinese victims of the Phoenix boat tragedy on July 5. The two day ceremony is being held on August 22-23. Volunteers’ activities and walk-run activity are being held to make a good relationship between Thai and Chinese people.

The Mahayana ceremony started at 10am led by the Phuket Vice Governor Prakob Wongmaneerung.

Yep and these bunch of mumbo jumbo chanting hypocrites will will do sweet F all to ensuring internationally recognisable safety standards are implemented and  enforced whilst they continue getting their brown envelopes to ignore already laid down operating criteria.

"The Minister of Tourism and Sports Weerasak Kowsurat is attending tonight’s ceremonies."

Can anyone else see the irony in the "Minister of Tourism and Sports" attending this?

Not only is it where 49 people have died in the name of tourism, but is that a sport too?

It’s a bit late for prayers. Try praying that these things don’t happen in the first place. Oh, wait.....

Why pray?  Do they think they can pray for the people to rise from the dead?

The time and money wasted on this misguided gesture should be used to prevent future tragic accidents like this.  But, easier and nicer to pray and actually do nothing.

What is the significance of the dolls houses in the guilt laden damage limiting drowning of tourists ceremony ?

Get lots of HD pictures-your going to need them

and confirmed that all boats, crew, and captains will not be able to be used until international safety and health regulations are met.  !!!!!!!!!!!!!
