Turtle found on Phuket beach with infectious wound

A large sea turtle was found on Kamala Beach in Phuket’s Krathu district on Friday evening.

The turtle was still alive but suffering from a deep infectious wound to one of its front legs.

Rescuers from the Kusol Tham Foundation were called in and rushed the turtle for treatment at the Laem Phanwa Marine Resources Research and Development Centre.

A fishing net might have caused the wound, said officials.
