PHUKET: A baby elephant that was being used as a tourist attraction at a safari camp in Chlaong on the road up to the Big Buddha viewpoint has been moved to a corral and is no longer being used as tourist-cash bait.

The three-year-old female baby elephant was shackled in front of the Butterfly & Orchid Garden on Soi Yodsane, causing an outpouring online over the condition the elephant was being kept in – and to much distress of some people, that the elephant was being used as a tourist attraction.

In response, the Phuket Livestock Office dispatched officers to ensure the elephant was in good health and not suffering maltreatment.

Great news!

Have had to go past this unfortunate little animal often when going through the village. It has been chained to a post daily, unable to move around, for a long time. It should be with it's mother, not being abused this way. It has been the subject of much discussion and several people I know have made complaints.

Good to see it's life is improving somewhat, although it's still not ideal.

Who are these ignorant people , who go to these camps... No Research, Tiger Camps , also , Drugged Dooed Up Animals

Is pimping elephants illegal? I see it daily.

What is up with Thailand when you can't use a baby elephant as a shill. I guess it will be

back to scantily clad young ladies at the entrance.:coffee1:

This shit you can find in almost all tourist destinations. Not only with elephants, also with tiger babies, baers, camel babies, crocodiles, .....

But you can do it to with your daughter, sister, wife too.

Up to you!!! Where you come from?
