Hottest electric shower unit available in CM

Featured Replies

I'm trying to get a very hot electric shower in CM without placing a special order.  There are many brands with 3500-6000 watt units available at the local appliance stores.  They are probably not hot enough and I would prefer a unit that is at least 8000 watts.  Years ago I found an Camarcio shower at Big C that was 9000 watts and it has been great and extremely hot but it's time for a new one.

I saw 8000 watt units from Germany ("Stiebel Eltron") and Italy ("MEX") at Power Buy and Home Pro today.  They might do the trick.  There may be a lower wattage unit that's extremely hot because of some superior design but it seems that higher wattage=hotter water usually.

Any ideas on this are greatly appreciated.

Stiebel Eltron are popular, made in Thailand. We have a couple of their 4,500 watt units, been fine for us, but in Bangkok.

Stiebel Eltron have some much higher wattage units on their website.

Power Buy show a 12,000 watt unit on their website, availability in store need to check.

Ensure your electrical system is sized correctly for  anything above 5.5 kw , mainly the wiring.

Would strongly  advise posting on the Electrical the electrical forum to get advice on the correct sized breaker and cables. many good electrical experts on there.

How hot do you want it to be?   I use a pan on the gas to make a cuppa!

Yes the stiebel eltron do both a 6kw and 8kw.

The 6kw is very hot here because the temp of the incoming water is hotter.

Go for the multipoint version as you can feed it to the shower, the tap and tge kitchen sink.

The price for the 6kw is usually around 7k bt and the 8kw at 8k bt.

You can very often get the best price on these at Tor Home.....they dont sell much high quality stuff like this so they want to get rid quickly.

Yes be aware of the electric supply. The usual 3.5/4.0kw. Heaters can be supplied on a standrard 2.5mm cable but at 6kw it will need 4mm min and then the 8kw a 6mm.

If you compare that to a uk shower, normally 10kw and higher the supply cable can be 10mm

Good luck
