Load up the free App and track Phuket’s local Po Thong buses in real time. Well that’s the idea.

The Global Positioning System (GPS) has been installed on 10 of Phuket’s local buses. These GPS local buses will be launched by the Phuket Land Transport Office (PLTO) in October.

The Phuket Land Transport Office (PLTO) Chief Banyat Kanta says, “We are cooperating with local Phuket buses and the Po Thong pink buses of the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO OrBorJor).”

"Smart Bus, Smart Passenger" and a MORON for a driver.:cheesy:

2018, and Phuket is a so called "World Class Tourist Destination" and this is the best they can do here, with all those billions of baht revenue, over decades.

It would be laughable, except for Phuket having some of the highest road death stats in the world.

“Dr Thaejing suggested the government make installing dash cams a priority, believing it will go well with its much-touted Thailand 4.0 policy, which promotes technological advances to improve public services.

The cameras will record all events happening in front of cars. This will make motorists think twice before committing mistakes, he said.” ?

So, with that article saying Thailand tops the list for road death in the world, and the below article saying Phuket tops the list for road death and injuries in Thailand, that makes Phuket THE MOST DANGEROUS place to be on the road in the world.

Based on what? I ride these buses regularly and the drivers are some of the more sensible people on the road.

Far better than the taxi scum, minibus and 'normal' Thai car drivers.

I rarely see any of them involved in crashes.

Just another thaigeezer basher who doesn't like progress.

I’ve used this App but I was confused by a place on the island the bus had stopped at and was there for some time. The place was called Mia Noi…never heard of it…anyone? ?
