A husband and wife who did drugs and jumped bail in Thailand's south have been arrested.

Thai Rath made a big thing of their love for each other yesterday as they prepared to be parted - possibly for years.

Husband Jessada Mooluang, 33, from Hat Yai was caught in January with 28 Ya Ba pills. His wife Siririn Jaihao, also 33, from Muang district of Songkhla had a gram of "ice".

They jumped bail in the sum of 300,000 baht each. The guarantor put up a land title deed for them and faced losing his "chanote" if they were not found.

He enlisted the police to track them down.

Yesterday the cops found them in a room near Hat Yai airport.

Before they were taken to separate jails they fed each other sweets and expressed their undying love at the station.

"I love her very much," said Jessada. "We are always there for one another. I don't know how many years we will get but whoever gets out first will wait for the other.

"Then we will turn over a new leaf and start again", he promised.
