Police in Pattaya have announced the arrest of three people who took advantage of the confusion in a Walking Street fight to steal the property of a visitor from Hong Kong.

Evidence recovered was nothing like what the visitor had claimed and he failed to turn up at the police station yesterday to verify that the items were his.

The case follows on from a fracas in Walking Street last week in which Vincent Chen or "Chenny" got involved in a 5am fight with four lady boys. He said that a bag containing about a million baht in valuables had gone missing.

The lady boys were quickly exonerated and just fined for fighting and released.

But where was the bag? Police said they knew and yesterday the missing items were found.

Chonburi police chief Pol Maj-Gen Nanthachart Suphamongkhon was at the resort to announce the arrest of two motorcycle taxi riders and a lady boy who took part in the theft while and after the fracas was proceeding. Many people were watching the melee as it unfolded in the famed red light area on Thursday.

Arrested were Nopadon or "Tui" 52 and Bunliang or "Reuang" 46, the 'win' riders and Anurak or "Pia", 29, the lady boy.

Recovered were a diamond encrusted bracelet, an iPhone 10, 4,000 baht, nine Hong Kong bankcards, a driving license and some ID.

Tui took the bag, Reuang picked up the bracelet and Pia snatched the phone.

Tui said he dumped the bag after stealing the 4,000 baht.

Reuang said he didn't know it the bracelet was fake or not and he had no intention of stealing it. He was just looking after it. He found it lying in the street, he claimed.

Tui didn't know his mate on the rank had the item of jewelry.

Nanthachart said that investigators need to talk to Mr Chen again regarding a half million baht Rolex watch that he said had gone missing.

The Hong Kong man - reported as working as a TV presenter - had also claimed earlier there was 120,000 baht and 5,000 HK dollars in the bag.

All the three suspects were charged with theft in the hours of darkness.

Maj Gen Nanthachart said there had been some communications problems with the victim but that ultimately good police work had resulted in the resolution of the case.

They should now issue an arrest warrant for this "Hong Kong Celebrity" for bringing Pattaya and lady boys into disrepute and making false claims.  Send Big Joke to Hong Kong where the RTP no doubt  think they also have jurisdiction , and bring him back to face the wrath of those he accused. ????

which one is the ladyboy? the one in the middle with that pink blouse?????

How about the police (?) guy in the back wearing some kind of black T-shirt that says "Beverly Hills..." on it?

Perhaps he already overspent his cop uniform allowance for the month? Or maybe he's looking for a gig on the next installment of "Beverly Hills Cop"!!!!

"What should I wear to the police station today? I know, my favorite red tee shirt that makes all the tourists stare at me."

Do tourists really stare a t-shirts with swastika's on them? Or do we only think they are while repressing their inner rage and indignation? Probably like most tourists, are they all a bit ambivalent or like me, they just don't see what all the fuss is about?
