Mel Gibson Set To Remake The Wild Bunch

By Ben Travis

Following his return to Hollywood with Hacksaw Ridge, Mel Gibson has confirmed his next film as director: a remake of Sam Peckinpah’s classic western, The Wild Bunch.

According to Deadline, Gibson is set to executive produce the film for Warner Bros as well as directing, and will co-write the screenplay alongside Bryan Bagby.

The original, released in 1969, followed a group of outlaws in the dying days of the old west who attempt to pull off one last job as a new industrial era encroaches.

At the time it was considered a hugely violent movie – and considering Gibson’s gore-soaked directorial output, he seems a likely choice to continue that tradition.

It's going to be up against a monster movie. It's hard to see how he could improve this movie about friendship and honour and to hell with the cost!

Who would they get to play the leads, hard to match the original cast.

So what, Roman Polanski was a child molester, still made good movies. Doesn't mean I have to have him around for a beer.

Neither would I put money in his pocket by supporting his movie making. The METOO movement has shown that sexism is unacceptable and will result in a career. destroyed.  It should be no less for blatant racism .  Polanski has been protected all his career, in the name of his art, what utter BS!  Gibson should be ignored.  Others can make the movie, its not that important.  Expunging his anti Semitic and racist views is important.

A black, a woman, a chinese, a canadian, a French, and someone that speaks Spanish.  Start the casting with a list from #metoo  or  #letspileonnow

Your financial contribution to the arts will be sorely missed by both Mel and Roman. That villa in Tuscani is now out of reach.
