My friends bedroom ceiling fluorescent bulb is flickering. So they bought a plug in fluorescent. Bulb and taped it on the wall vertically.It is at eye level and I feel I cannot sit in the room. Is it danerous for the eyes?

Strange question.  Probably not dangerous unless you contact it head on.  Staring at it for a length of time would not be a good idea.  Bedroom yah?  Why would you want to sit in the room anyway?

It rather depends on the fluorescent. Any good brand is safe.

 

Though if it looks like this

then it is very dangerous for both skin and eyes and you should probably not even be in the same room when it is switched on.????

A flickering fluorescent bulb is usually near end of lifetime.

And it's not doable to replace? 60 Baht or so.

No ladder available?

Really strange.

The problem is either the fluorescent tube or the ballast, either one is inexpensive to replace, why screw around and take short cuts with something like that.
