If however you hand your passport over first, the staff will swipe it through and your name will not show up in their system and then your booking is invalid. Personally experienced this with international flight out of DM two weeks ago And if that doesn't work get stuck there? I wouldn't wait with these things til;l; at the checkin or boarding gate, but get this sorted ahead of time. Which OP wisely has done now.
