ominous dominoes show snake eyes: plumber needed

A sudden surge of bad-foo quantum states in the demonic infestation that always hovers around the edges of the echoes of the singularity that transformed two dying primates, one human, one orang, into a kind of happy-meal-combo of both critters' mind-souls in one (farang) body ...

Caused us to break off the handle of the water faucet in the bathroom sink as we cleaned. Wouldn't you know it has no separate valve, so I had to shut off the water for the whole house.

And, tomorrow the new owner comes for a look see. I've done plumbing in the past, but don't have the tools and parts to deal with this: it's an old sink, and taking it off the wall is going to  make a mess.

Is there a plumber.handy-person you recommend ?

"Everything that happens, including humiliations, embarrassments, misfortunes, all has been given like clay, like material for one’s art. One must accept it. For this reason I speak in a poem of the ancient food of heroes: humiliation, unhappiness, discord. Those things are given to us to transform, so that we may make from the miserable circumstances of our lives things that are eternal, or aspire to be so."   Jorge Borges, essay: "On Blindness."

The last time I helped an d expat with plumbing in CM, he offered to buy me a cup of coffee at 711.  Later that same day, I was walking to a promo place and noticed him sitting at Beer Republic at 2-300 per glass.  Money talks; BS walks.  The faucet can be replaced for under 200 THB, and is likely held in place with a plastic wingnut.  Shut the water off at the main....

Thanks for sharing your trauma, Khun Wingnut; who, indeed, has not experienced being generously helpful, and not being fully appreciated, acknowledged, rewarded ? Dare I say the true enemy here is not the ingrate, but the bitterness in the persistent memory ?

If your demons can be kept at bay, hopefully, you will have a better experience with someone who understands the value of your kindness.

In this case, the faucet, poor quality pot-metal cheapie, imho, broke off at the base; dismantling the sink may be required. My concern is not having a nasty mess just as the new owner inspects.
