Volvo explodes into flames outside Phuket Temple

Fire has engulfed a parked Volvo sedan next to a temple in Phuket town. The car’s owner was taking part in a funeral inside the temple last night (Sunday).

 

Firefighters were notified of the incident at Wat Kosit Wiharn Temple in Phuket Town at 7.11 pm. Two fire engines headed to the scene along with Phuket City police.

 

The engine compartment of the white Volvo was well ablaze when they arrived. It took about 20 minutes to get the fire under control. The front part of the car has been almost totally destroyed.

Looks like a case of premature cremation syndrome.

I’ve seen several of the old porche 914 burst into flames; had one when I was in college, they all leaked fuel. Also had Volvo’s. Never had one flame on me as they were most of the time  at the repair shop more than on the road.

They have probably installed a gas tank, an electric shortcut could never exploded like this

Why was being a Volvo significant? We don't see Toyota or Mazda or Mitsubishi when they combust so why Volvo (Yes dear, I know in THIS case it was a Volvo so untwist yer pants)

Maybe it is the wishes of the dead person to drive that Volvo in the next life...

volvo needs to invest here

Those bbq lighting blocks are not expensive 

If someone disliked him it wouldn't be hard to put one on the tyre and light it while everyone is distracted with the funeral...

But who else would know he's at the funeral except a family member? ???? 

 

Why was there no crowd copying down the rego number, car burns at temple = lottery win surely!
