Hi,

We are new to Thailand and need an Osteopath or a Chiropracter to help with an upper back problem. Any suggestions? We are in the area of Central Chidlom.

Thanks,

I think from memory Mark Leoni costs THB1,500 per session. The first consultation is more: THB2,000? Anyway, give them a call and they will confirm. They're closed on Fridays.

If you don't have any success with the chiropractor as I didn't I would recommend trying the Alexander technique. I've only been able to find one guy who does it in Bangkok - he's called andy and advertises in bkk magazine if you need his details.

Good luck with the back.

Check out chirofit gym on thonglor soi 13, the fitness centre is run by a chiropractor.

I would be interested to know if anyone else had the same experience with Dr Leoni as me.

I was consulting him about my prolapsed l5/s1 disc and he was pretty good. After about 4 sessions, he suggested I underook a detox and liver cleansing diet. Fast for a day, then drink a litre of olive oil and then a litre of orange juice. The result would be small pellets of cholesterol! I declined this kind offer although we do still have the diet sheet at home somewhere which we amuse our visitors with!

he does have a wholistic approach, which of course includes diet, but i have found he is not preachy or over the top with this. Generally he has pointed to things i am doing wrong, and he suggested i take bio magnesium for my muscle tension and neck strain, which in my opinion has made a difference. while i do not take magnesium on on continual basis because i tend to forget, whenever the stiffness start to return i resume the magnesium and can usually feel some sort of improvement within a day or two.

either way, i dont think he can be faulted mechanically speaking, he is the third i have tried in thailand and the only one who worked

Seconded another time. Been twice to one of his colleagues on Soi 31 because I was to lazy to go to Dr. Leoni. This guy (Soi 31) did a standard spine-cracking procedure without much diagnosis or feeling. Not surprisingly symptoms got worse after the second time. Will definitely not go there again.

Then went to Dr. Mark Leoni and was blown away by the time he and his assistants spent on me. I can't imagine this was normal procedure but they wouldn't let me go until after 1,5h of concentrated, professional diagnosing and lots of different therapies. Also the "adjusting" itself was fantastic. Dr. Leoni absolutely knows his profession and is able to concentrate himself again and again on each new patient. Amazing!

First session 1,700 Bth, but worth twice the price.

No experience with Dr. Leoni, but my wife has some pain in her leg and following this thread she just checked on the current fees. So in the way of an update I can report that the first session now costs 2,200 Baht and following sessions are each 1,700 Baht. For anyone interested.

Chirofit at The Bangkok Mediplex at Ekamai BTS, on the second floor is certainly a place worth checking out. Very impressed.
