My wife and i would love her daughter and her son to come visit us next year for a month or 2. My wife has british citizenship and has been here for 10 years now. How hard would this be ? They do not have thai passports at the moment and the thai boyfriend is not happy about the trip as he is jealous about them coming to England . can anybody see any problems with the visa application?

Thanks in advance

Yes, I can see a number of problems, the first might be that the Thai boyfriend, who I assume is the father of the children, might make it difficult for a passport to be obtained, I don't believe he could totally prevent it, but he could certainly make it difficult.

Do the children live with their father, he could also make applying for a visa very difficult, Entry Clearance Officers would want to be satisfied that the person responsible for them here in Thailand is content for them to travel to the UK for a month or two, it doesn't seem to be the case.

The ECO's would need to be satisfied that the childrens life is in Thailand and might question why they are not already with the mother.

I've never been involved in such a position like this one, though I suspect it might be pretty common, so it might be easier than I imagine, hopefully other members with experience of this scenario may be able to offer advice.

Good luck

Sorry i didnt make it too clear. It is my wifes daughter and grandson , not daughter and son .

And the thai boyfriend is that of my wifes daughter.

Thanks
