PHUKET: The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has today issued a heavy weather warning for provinces in the Andaman region including Phuket from today (Nov 7) through Sunday (Nov 10).

Affected provinces include Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang and Satun.

Feels like the weatherman decided to start the heavy, heavy rain already today.

Hopefully this is the last angry storm of the season.

Tourists on Phuket and in other southern resorts facing downpours - HEAD NORTH to Isaan or Lanna where we have had continuous hot sunshine for several weeks now. In fact many areas are suffering drought conditions. Come and see the scenic hills, mountains, lakes and river valleys. Visit fascinating old cities. Enjoy jungle treks or adventure sports.

Rainshowers last night, calm again today.

It wasn't just Phuket- light rain and drizzle to Surat Thani, then slowed by 30 minutes up to Chumphon when it really started- black by 1430. 90 minutes longer than normal up to PKK, not helped by 45 minutes to move 3km at one point due to massive floods across the road and Somchai flipping a  pickup in one of them. Flooding was that bad S of PKK that southbound traffic was diverted to one lane of the northbound carriageway.

I may have n early night- 7 hours of driving turned into 9!
