Big Joke: UK woman was not raped on Phuket; Thai "sushi maker" arrested

Lots going on about girl getting drunk and falling asleep insinuating she asked for it? (Brits & Aussie girls especially ??)

- Maybe she had her drink spiked? Rohypnol anyone....?? (A Mickey Fin for you old farts out there)

- Maybe there are more reports of Brit and Aussie girls because they have the balls to report an assault

This male arrested assaulted her, he's admitted he did and hopefully it will be more than a paltry 8000 Baht fine

If she was spiked (IF) wonder how many other girls he's done it to and gotten away with it...? (That would be all the other girl nationalities who are not as strong as the Brits & Ozzies then ehh)

Penetrated by the same filthy finger he uses to pick his nose. I am sure non consensual sex of any kind is RAPE.

You are so right!  Dictionary. com: "unlawful sexual intercourse or any other sexual penetration of the vagina, anus, or mouth of another person, with or without force, by a sex organ, other body part, or foreign object, without the consent of the victim."

nobody said there was no crime, nobody said the girl lied. according to the article she was checked at the hospital. Police file charges according to the law and not the dictionary and apparently as started in the op:

A man has been charged with penetrating the woman via a sexual organ, anus or mouth.

You have no idea what you are talking about, English dictionary is one way of finding out what words mean, and law is the concrete.

I dare say both you and Big Joke need to polish up on your Thai law, Big Joke said she was not raped in the article, but he has charged the guy with rape, which of course it is, even under Thai law., perhaps Big Joke thinks rape is when you insert your penis into the person without consent, which is wrong, rape is rape, by even removing her clothing without her will, one could say he intended on raping her against her will.

Have a read for yourself on the below extract, rape is rape, finger, penis, penetration against one's will, rape rape rape, it is what it is, and he needs to go away for a long long time to learn its not on, unless she says its on, but watch out if she changes her mind mid flight, because that could also be construed as rape if you don't get off quick smart.

Section 276. Rape

Whoever has sexual intercourse with a woman, who is not wife, against her will, by threatening by any means whatever, by doing any act of violence, by taking advantage of the woman being in the condition of inability to resist, or by causing the woman to mistake him for the other person, shall be punished with imprisonment of four to twenty years and fined of eight thousand to forty thousand Baht.

If the offence as mentioned in the first paragraph is committed by carrying or using any gun or explosive, or participation of persons in the nature of destroying the woman, the offender shall be punished with imprisonment of fifteen to twenty years and fined of thirty thousand to forty thousand Baht, or imprisonment for life.

To close: Both you and Big Joke have mud on your face...lol

Maybe you should work a bit on your reading skills if you want the " I know it all here "

Where does it say that the guy was charged with rape?

A man has been charged with penetrating the woman via a sexual organ, anus or mouth.

Where in the Thai law does it say that the above is considered rape

In most other countries it is considered sexual assault, for which I already posted a link to the UK met police website

I tend to agree with Aussieroaming above. Here is an English Dictionary definition of rape................

rape

noun
  1. unlawful sexual intercourse or any other sexual penetration of the vagina, anus, or mouth of another person, with or without  force, by a sex organ, other body part, or foreign object, without the consent of the victim.

Agree...but Thai translation shifts the emphasis. As you’d expect!

I will tell you this much, I didn't say 'I know it all here'

But I will say this for the blind, you obviously didn't read the heading of Section 276 in my post on Thai law which discussed RAPE, and the penalty is exactly the same as he was charged, call it what you will, but rape is rape, sexual assault, same same, or do you not get it, obviously !

Below in case you missed the heading, which you did, now give us a break and go back to do what you do best which is obviously having no idea what you are talking about.

I thank God I'm not a young man and that I grew up in the era that I did.
Lord, before even kissing another person you pretty much need to have an affidavit signed stating the exact nature of the 'sex' you planned to consensually engage in, what parts of the body will be used and in what manner, and then those forms would need to be signed in triplicate, witnessed by two other individuals, and then the entire sexual encounter would need to be filmed and documented to prove that each party, especially the male member of a male/female liaison did not violate the scope of the agreement thus leading to an accusation of rape.

I lived in a much simpler time.  Back when farangs still had children too.  I can understand why they don't anymore.  That's probably a good thing actually.  Personally, I would not assist a drunk woman, especially a farang woman, in any way shape or manner nowadays.  It's better to just to stay as far away as possibly and remain totally uninvolved.

I have escorted many a lady back to her hotel/home to ensure she arrives safely and NO harm comes to her. Then I am not a rapist just a normal bloke, its what normal men do.

Oh i see. So as a man, you have to trouble yourself to make sure the lady got home safe. If the lady is "handicap" in such a way, she should just stay at home and don't go out.

It may come as a surprise to some people but women are equal to men

Then they should also man up and handle the situations themselves instead of calling some men with guns. I know there are girls out there freeloading all night in a sexy outfit and then suddenly disappearing.

Let me give you another example of the risks to men who try to be good Samaritans. And BTW, if your response becomes personal or insulting, you will lose credibility.

If I was back in England and while out on my travels walking along a street and approached by a minor or a child asking me for help, maybe cannot find parents or asking for a bus fare home, I would not offer to take the minor or child along with me to look for the parents or hand over money for bus fare in a public place. I would say just stay where you are and I`ll call the police or ask a female to help me, otherwise it is likely I as a middle aged or elderly male actions could be misconstrued as a paedophile trying to pick up kids. For all I know the child could be part of an exploitation scam.

The same applies if I saw a woman in distress, I would be very wary of getting myself involved.

This is how paranoid western society has become against men, perceived as all men being sexual predictors and all women as victims whatever the circumstances. A sad sign of the times.

Just a moment, please.

The woman was drinking at the bar alone, got drunk and then asks a man who was not a taxi driver to take her back to her hotel.

So she was not drunk enough to invite a man to take her to her hotel, but too drunk to ask staff to call her a taxi. After she passed out  fell asleep, the man probably took advantage of the situation and took the woman to his house instead.

Surely don`t women bear some responsibilities towards their own safety and vulnerabilities? I am not condoning what the guy did, if had been me I`d simply had called her a taxi, but sorry, have little sympathy for this woman either.
Next time you get drunk and pass out how about i finger you or even give you a proper go? Would you feel it was your fault when you woke up?
