Diabetics: Where 2 buy freestyle libre starter kit

Featured Replies

Hello does anyone knows where to buy the Freestyle libre starter kit, with the sensor and how much does it cost. I live in Pattaya do i have to go to pharmacy or the hospital to get I know I need a doctors prescription okay thanks.

Until someone more knowledgeable posts, here are a few comments:

(1) Is it actually available in Thailand yet?  Abbott's Thai website for the product doesn't work.

(2) Why do you think you need a prescription? Other blood sugar testing products are available in every pharmacy.  Why should this one be different.

(3) If a prescription is required it will only be available through a hospital after seeing a consultant.  This will make it significantly more expensive than in the West.

(4) Personally, my first step would be to contact Abbott to find out if it's available, and to whom in your area it's been distributed.
