Popular Post observer90210 Posted November 26, 2018 Popular Post Posted November 26, 2018 For those outbound with Qatar Airways from Suvarnabumi, just beware of the weight of your hand luggage. If you are flying out in Economy - they ask to see your hand luggage, weigh it and any extra kilo is required to be removed and checked in to the luggage compartment. If you already have reached the limit of your check-in luggage, you could be asked to shell out more, so just beware. Of course, many airlines do this, but as this hand luggage harassment is never done with Emirates, just don't get surprised. Another issue, no point in arriving to early for Qatar check-in, as there is nobody at the counters before 2 hours of the boarding time, unlike Emirates who are present all day long as obviously they seem to have many more flights then Qatar. Edit : (quote from Qatar website): First Class and Business Class customers are allowed to carry two pieces of baggage on board, not to exceed a total weight of 15kg (33lb) Economy Class customers are allowed to carry one piece of baggage, not to exceed 7kg (15lb) For tickets issued in Brazil, Economy Class customers on flights to or from Brazil are allowed to carry one piece of baggage, not to exceed 10 kg (22lb) 2 2
ryanqqq Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 They also always seem to have the longest lines for check in. Coupled with immigration lines being busy, it can be stressful. It is also not just in Bangkok as I had a similar check-in experience in Haneda. Qatar, Etihad and Emirates usually have the cheapest tickets from my place. But from experience such as this, I tend to favor the other 2 if difference in price is not significant. Too bad as their in-flight service and the Doha airport for stopover is quite good.
lemonjelly Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Flew with them Penang to Paris, return flight, upon checking in at Charles De Gaul airport for return flight, wouldn’t let the missus n kid (thai pp holders) on unless they had flight booked out of Malaysia, said Penang immigration would send us back to Paris (nonsense) last minute rush to buy tickets from Penang to BKK which of course we didn’t need, Qatar Airlines forget to mention this when we initially booked the tickets from Penang to Paris.... almost missed the flight due to their nonsense
