3 points, but what a dire second half. Had me at my grouchy worst again. So many loose passes. Jesus was dispossessed nearly every time he was on the ball after coming on. Maddening.

And why the f is Sterling taking PKs when KDB is on the pitch?

Clearly our best finisher is Foden these days.

Stones has been a revelation. Long may it last.

Yes, the three things I would take from that game was Jesus cannot dribble his way out of his defensive role, he was awful.

Stones is playing out of his skin, another assured display.

City can still win when not playing anywhere near their best.

The only thing I would disagree with there Kads is the Jesus part. Yes he was awful when he came on but it was his first game back, so a little ring rusty. He can and does play much better than his display last night

Don't beat yourself up for having high standards jelly. We should have put that to bed several times but to be fair, Brighton played really well and are a much better side than their position in the table shows. If they carry on playing like that, they'll get points and creep up the table

And yeah, why didn't Kev take that penalty?

At this stage, I'll take the 3 points and move onto the next game against Palace

I agree MrB, especially about Brighton. They were on top of City defensively the entire match. I expect their manager, Graham Potter, to be around awhile.

Tough game that last night, which needed a moment of Filthy Foden to finish it.

Every time I've seen brighton they've been decent. Pep played the same way for a 4th game and Potter had done his homework. If they keep grafting like that they should stay up; adding a goalscorer would help.

Dias and Stones brilliant again. Cancello worse game for a while. Enjoyed watching Bernardo who was everywhere, and Foden making things happen.

2nd half, 1v0 up, we couldn't kill the game off, the game was too open. I was screaming for Pep to bring on Fernandinho for Rodri to control midfield and Walker for a poor Cancello, but Pep puts on Jesus out of position wide left (thereby moving Foden and making him less effective) and Sterling - both rubber dubbs didn't contribute at all. Sometimes i wonder about managers. Pep sometimes is too loyal to the players on the pitch - Get em off if they ain't doing it, Pep!

I just think you are looking solid at the back, are in good form, and already have experience / a winning formula.

Not writing us off of course.

But you've got God on your side to get you back to your rightful top position. Hallelujah and praise the Lord!

I think there is a good argument that if God supports a football team, it's Man United. Absolutely.

There's your mistake right there, you need to write off the next 5 years minimum. Your outfit is a joke, it's like the gift that keeps giving where fool hardy decisions are made. A joy to read about.

John Stones with a brace, who'd a thowt it. Got to be the most improved player in the Prem this year.

We played well last night. Nothing too strenuous as Pep is trying to stop them running all over the park. Excellent goal by Gundo. I must admit, I wasn't his biggest fan but I'm warming to him. Excellent free kick by Sterling.

Started the season slow but I'm liking what I'm seeing now. Got to beat Villa on wednesday

Showed Arsenal how to do it.

Game was a bit like the United/Liverpool game for a bit with Palace adopting the United approach but you managed  to what Arsenal struggle to quite easily.

De Bruyne showed why he is the best player in the PL

Stones must be nailed on to be in the next England team. Looks a class act at the moment.

I'm curious, how long have City been your second team?

How are we feeling about tonight chaps?

Depends which Villa turns up I guess. If Grealish can start pulling the string you never know. In your current form it could be a walk in the park, but this is one of the games I am hoping you could drop points in.

Grealish dirty git. That's both Walker and KdB he's taken out and they have had to go off with his tackles

The fashion plate Grealish with his hot pants and droopy socks. Has he made a gay porno yet?
