KhunBENQ
What model is it? Ranger truck? How old? Can you put a scan/copy/photo in a new thread in the Thai language forum? Put your VIN (vehicle identification number) in this form and see what happens: https://www.ford.co.th/en/owner/recalls/ Edited December 20, 2018 by KhunBENQ
KhunBENQ
Let me guess that it is about gearbox/powershift/transmission... Many inglorious headlines this year.

Not even "not found" or the like? As no Ford around I enter an arbitrary 17 character string and see "invalid VIN". So you have to wait for a Ford owner. KhunBENQ
Let's wait for more response. I am clueless. This "18S06S1" also does not bring up something obvious...

JoeW
If I remember correctly the Ford Ranger was recalled last month in Australia for faulty door latches...seeing as these are built in Thailand that might be it.

NanLaew
Plugged my VIN into the ford.th recall check website that KhunBENQ kindly posted a link to and got the same as the OP, nada. So I reckon my 2014 build PX Ranger isn't on the recall list. But just to be sure, went through all 2,220 pages of VINS for all 128, 770 affected vehicles and it wasn't listed there so I would guess if the ford.th recall checking page doesn't do anything, then you don't have to do anything either. ...but then I got a wild hair up my ass and used ford.au recall check website and Bingo! YOUR VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING OPEN FORD FIELD SERVICE ACTIONS WHICH MAY REQUIRE ACTION BY YOU* REPLACE DOOR LATCHES 18S06 *Where any Warranty Extensions are listed above, this is for your information only and no action is required by you unless your vehicle requires repair of the component which is covered by the Warranty Extension Please contact your closest Ford Dealer or call the Ford Customer Relationship Centre on 13 FORD if you require assistance in relation to these field service actions Edited December 20, 2018 by NanLaew
NE1
Strange that. I followed your link to Ford.au and bingo , my VIN was acknowledged and I was informed that my door latches need replacing . So these Fords were made in Thailand , but the VIN number does not work on Ford's Thai website , so you have to go to a foreign countries Ford website to find out if you should take your truck into a Ford dealer in Thailand ........ How Thai is that. ???? Edited December 20, 2018 by NE1 1

How Thai is that. ???? Maybe the ford.th thingmie isn't plugged in properly? Either way, you have the written summons and the online verification so hopefully your local Ford dealer's service shop is on the ball. In my experience with a couple of earlier, low-priority recall's, their Pattaya shop knew what I was on about, made the appointment and the checks/fixes were done within a couple of hours. The Udon branch (where I bought it) are also decent and don't dick around. Good luck,
JoeW
The Ford.au website is probably just looking at the date of manufacturing -> 2012 and later. Ford.th website is just not working ????

Who actually supplies parts to Ford? I guess they don't manufacture their own parts? I do recall once seeing parts in a fiesta/focus that were stamped "made in Indonesia". It seems to me it would be hard for Ford to check the quality of their parts during their production when they are made all over the place. Do Honda and Toyota outsource production of many of their components?

Popular Post Sydebolle
Ford sucks all the way and, after having had four Ford Rangers, I will switch to Isuzu. The camel‘s back got broken by purchasing an extra (original) key at Ford Nong Khai. Invoice issued, paid with credit card and 10 minutes later I was handed over a little box (with the remote control part) and a tiny transparent plastic bag containing the uncut key. They could not do the cutting themselves - they told me - and hence „up to you“. I tried various key services which refused to cut this extremely hard (Portuguese) steel key. So I took my key parts back and asked, if they also sell cars in parts, i.e wheels, frame, doors, fan and windows and ask the customer to assemble the themselves - drew a blank as they would not be able to understand. As nobody was competent or authorized to do more than just play around on smartphones, busying themselves with Facebook, Line and other time wasters I wrote to Ford Nong Khai - no answer. After two reminders I sent the file onto [email protected]; a lady, fluent in English, called back and promised action. Next thing was a call from the same office in a conference call with Ford Nong Khai which I refused to accept as I was driving. A later call then from Bangkok then informed, that refund is not possible (no reason given) - although I have everything in its original packaging etc. I resent my original request for refund a total of three times and insisted on a written answer which, to this day, is outstanding. I paid for the original disassembled key THB 5‘334, a perfectly functioning copy which I purchased later on (waited all of five minutes) was THB 4‘000 in Udon Thani. I could write a book about the lousiest customer service on the planet with my four vehicles. What a pity, as the cars are excellent but Khon Thai doing after sales are simply hopeless. It is not about the money but I am not accepting being treated like that.
Nyezhov
Damn and here I thought Thai car dealers were better than US ones, I thought I was reading a topic about uS car dealers. PS: Ford trucks rock and yes, parts are outsourced. And most recalls are precautionary.
NE1
Sydebolle. My sentiments exactly. Good motors , but the " customer care " is appalling.
