ILR Online Application Issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

Currently filling in the application form online for my wife’s leave to remain

She’s been here 5 yrs now.

There’s a page with questions about the applicants family and friends back in Thailand.

I have filled them in with relevant names and details but when you press continue it says

‘Answers must be in English and cannot use special characters’

What the hell is this???

For starters what has this got to do with the visa?? And secondly I am writing it in English so what the problem?

Has any else experienced this problem??

Thanks

Anton.

not seen it on the further leave to remain one to be honest.

It does seem like a very stupid pointless question to have to answer , I mean what purpose does it serve ?

I remember this question and it has been on Flr for while. Agree its a silly question could be a very long list. We answered by just putting my wife's parents name. I've never done the online application so can't help with the character issue I'm afraid.

Hi,

I have figured out the special character issue.
It won’t let you submit and proceed to the next section if you put commas in??

Still don’t understand the reason for the question though.

Thanks
Anton.
