UK C-Visit Visa, Delayed travel.

Featured Replies

A colleague has just received a Multiple Entry C-Visit Visa, (6 month validity?)

This is his third UK Visa over a period of around 5 years.

His visa is valid from 20 December 18.

He had planned to travel immediately after the new year but now needs to delay his trip due to a health problem with one of the family members he plans to stay with. He can’t at this moment be sure when he’ll be able to

make the trip, but obviously hopes soon.

Does anyone know if their is a time period by which he must use his visa, or could he for example delay if travel for three months.

He understands the end date is fixed, he’s worried that he might have to re-apply if he delays travel past a ‘must use by date’.

Apparently the visa office in BKK is closed so he can’t get an answer from them until the NY.

He can use it at any time within the validity period as printed on the visa vingette, he must leave the UK on or before the expiry date,

In the unlikely event that a Border Force Officer asks him at the UK Border why he didn't travel on his originally stated travel travel date, he should just say what you've written in your post.
