That is a fallacy. Many insurance policies in the US will pay for suicide if the policy has been in effect for at least 2 years.

Insurance policies in the US is not the same as "most".  Other countries have insurance policies, you know? It's not all about America.

Good Lord!

I certainly hope he had sufficient life insurance...

This is the first thing that pops out of your mouth after reading this suicide article. Wow man ???? wow.

Insurance pays after being in effect for at least three years and no obvious intent to commit suicide.

Those who have not been there need to shut their crapper about depression so intense as to want someone to take their own lives.

Obviously a few issues going on upstairs for this poor bloke.

It’s an extremely sad and gruesome way to go. I understand that this was in BKK but if anyone is struggling here in Pattaya and need to reach out to someone for a chat, face-to-face, get something off your chest or whatever feel free to message me, I’ll always be open to lending a hand to someone struggling. Especially if it saves a life.

Nothing is ever that bad, There’s always a solution to a problem. Even if it’ll be a long, hard road it’s much better than the alternative.

Those who are struggling and looking for help you might give assistance.

But those who decided to end their life you and nobody can help because they decided that step without "consulting " anybody.

I was on the elevator and I saw something fly next to me and after a few second I heard strong noise when he felt in the floor. People was shocking and cry. The sad thing when he jump, he not scream, he just jump. I can’t forget that from my head.

People only scream when it's an accident.  No need to scream if you are willingly jumping.

..a natural automatic response to cry out regardless.

life insurance does not cover suicides.

Not true, most will cover suicides after the first year has past, even my Thai Life insurance covers this.

Lorazepam is one of the benzodiazepine drugs. Not saying that it was his Lorazepam that did it.

But benzos can easily be very addictive and if used improperly can create the opposite of what you want it to do. Benzos can create extreme anxiety...extreme paranoia to the point that you are convinced that you’re totally insane, and create thoughts of killing and suicide.

It’s of the most dangerous drug classes that exist and led to suicides and murder through the addictive effects on the mind.

Properly used they can helpful if used carefully and very temporarily for no more than a week or so. But they are not a cure for anything and in my opinion should be totally banned/outlawed.

Very sorry he killed himself. Thankfully he took no one else with him.

  Rest In Peace.

what you say about benzos is largely true but when used properly, not abused, or addicted can be lifesaving.

used intravenously to stop life threatening seizures is a godsend

for severe muscle spasm

to aid dislocation/fracture reduction

Ok, a number of insurance companies even outside the US cover suicide if the policy has been in force for awhile. Read post #49. The poster says even his Thai life insurance covers suicide after a year.

Yes, I agree and made a statement to that effect in my post you read.

Quote: “Properly used they can helpful if used carefully and very temporarily for no more than a week or so.”

But they remain..one of the most dangerous class of drugs in existence and in my opinion should be totally banned and outlawed except for the uses you mentioned, in a hospital/medical setting with controls.

How do we know he jumped? People don’t watch other people in public spaces like that unless they are very attractive...people are too busy moving and trying to get through people...

reactionary witnesses are just that...didn’t actually see him initially but in a reaction mode and therefore what they saw was motion not the beginning step...

Most life insurance policies do cover suicide however insurance companies stipulate that on new policies, full cover (which covers suicide) is only available after after one or two years as they deem suicide after this period had not been contemplated at the start of the policy.

Jimmy the Mook ought to know that you cannot insure against killing yourself, nor the horror and distress caused to shoppers when making a mess of yourself in situation like this. Poor man!  He must have been mad. There is an indication that he may have been having some dealing with a Thai woman.

If im ever in that area i might hit you up. I just don't handle very good when separated from my girl. For example she or i have to go away for day or so. I never get to the point of killing myself but i do hit a very dark sad area that has tendencies to lead to it. So just to have someone to talk to could make a huge difference for me.

Did you have to bring up the subject of money?

"Thai Rath reported that he was clad in a t-shirt, track-suit pants and sneakers.

He had small tattoos on both arms and a snake tattoo on his left shoulder.

He had a gold ring on the ring finger of his left hand.

He was in possession of his passport, a key, an air-ticket, chewing gum, loose tobacco and roller, and a quantity of Lorazepam. "

I the only relevant words in the above extract are the last 4!

Lorazepam is used to treat psychiatric disorders such as anxiety. It is also used to treat insomnia.

It's used for more than anxiety.

It is used to treat anxiety disorders, trouble sleeping, active seizures including status epilepticus, alcohol withdrawal, and chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting
