Everything clear and understood?

With interest I noticed the thread "CONFIRMED, Here is exactly what's needed for retirement + marriage extensions" in the visa sub-forum. Instead of "clarification", this thread seems to have produced questions mainly. (Over 1000 posts, so far.)
So much for "clarification".

In spite of "clarifications", visa-issues still dominate TVF as far as posts/discussions are concerned. Dwarfing sex, tabloid, human interest, banter and bedlam by far. Worrisome, I find.

Would it take some McKinsey guys to finally re-organise the entire Immi-Legislation from the ground up?

Like:
- A foreighn individual maintaining a Thai Bank balance of 800/400K year round is automatically granted permanent resident status. (Foreighn monthly income can be used to maintain the 800/400K minimum balance).
- A foreighn individual staying longer than 3 months in Thailand (cumulative per year) is no longer a tourist, must therefore go for the 800/400K permanent resident status. Frequent business-travellers that can't maintain a balance of 800/400K in Thailand are not businessmen, but undercapitalised dreamers.
- Get rid of most TM's. (TM 30 as a first).

Simplyfication would be possible. Of course, that would mean that fewer Farangs would be enticed to participate in the Thai Elite-Visa scheme. But much worse: 80% of Immi-Officers would have to be re-trained as Som-Tam or fake watch sellers in some tourist-hubs.
Heaven forbid! Thailand first, Chinese second, Farangs third.

PS: Another trivial post of mine, compared to "Brexit" and "Shampoo-rip-off". Hoping for forgiveness and leniency.
