A ridiculous and totally unreliable method, most NFL and rugby players would be classed as  obese by the BMI measurement.  Why people continue to peddle this nonsense astounds me.

Bruce Smith, the great Hall of Famer from the Buffalo Bills was 6'4" and 280. Under that calculator, he comes out at 33.4. But I remember from his playing days that he had a real BMI of 18.

I think because for your average person it’s a good indicator of your “fat content”. It gives you a target to aim for / Sure someone who has very large muscle mass will not need to use this - your FNL or Rugby player .. weight lifter .. body builder ... is not fat .. :-) ..

Quote

BMI = 21.0

Waist = 28 inches (just like when I was a teenager - was 34 inches 2 years ago).  The reduction in lard is down to daily exercise and a healthy diet ????

Actually, you maybe should also have asked the age.  I'm just hitting 60.

6'4"/194 - 235#/108 = 28.6

Been the same for years but redistributed.....

51" chest, 38" waist....Not what it once was before but in my 70's now.....

Grudgingly have to admit it.....

This is me at the end of a recent tourney trophy presentation - we won.....

The Thai guy next to me is nicknamed "big guy"....

as it doesn't take into account muscle mass, build,  physical make up of any kind, it's good for absolutely  nobody.
