I'm not aware of any better Phuket-specific list of requirements and documentation than this list provided by the Phuket Immigration Volunteers on their website:

http://piv-phuket.com/long-stay-extensions/marriage-m/

The implications of the NEW, ADDITIONAL OPTION, provided by Thai Immigration to allow citizens of the unfortunate four embassies (UK, US, Australia, Denmark) who no longer provide embassy income letters are summarized in a useful fashion here.  Only of interest if you are a national of one of those embassies and don't already have an embassy letter, or are not using one of the other methods of getting an extension of stay, none of which have changed in the slightest:

So, if you are applying for extension now, and the new rules only came into effect 3 weeks ago, how do you show the last 2 months bank transactions from uk to thai bank of 80,00 bahtalongside the valid letter from the Embassy??., or is it one or the other??

And after that, I was informed that I need Both, but the question remains unanswered, if I apply today with the letter, and the new rules only came into effect 2 weeks ago, how can I show 2 months (80,000) proior transfer from uk to thai bank account?

That should be all that is required - next year you will need the proof of bank deposits if from a country that does not issue such letters anymore.

Thanks Lopburi, I've heard Phuket Immigration are asking for both, and I have a Thai account anyway to transfer into, but not that amount at short notice.

Cheers

Embassy "income letters" no longer work, as Immi's got new rules effective from Jan 1st. In my case (guardian visa based on having a Thai kid and being divorced from his mom) despite having up-to-date stat decl from AU consulate, the immi officer said I needed to season 400k in my THB account for 2 month. When I mentioned that new rules were announced just a week ago (it was in January), and there's not enough time for 2 months as my extension is due in 3 weeks, he proposed to season 400k for 1 week and come back with bank statement + certificate and bank-book copy. They accepted my docs after that, gotta see the outcome next month...

Here's updated list of docs required:

More bizarre requirements were added this year, such as my landlord's personal tabien baan (in addition to condo's tabien baan).

Overall, the process does not get any easier, despite their declared "SMART" strategy. I mean, drive-thru for 90 days is nice, but it's been doable online for ages, so...

Hi Andrew, so the 40,000 baht per month in the bank with the letter is not being accepted atall?, as I am getting conflicting reports on this.
