Where to buy folding bikes in Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I will be travelling to Bangkok from Feb 15 to Mar 3. I was hoping to buy a fake Strida or fake Brompton foldable bike to bring back home in my checked luggage.

I was wondering if anyone can give me suggestions on where to find possible stores that may have them. It can be new or used. My budget is about 3500 Thai baht.

Reason: I saw fake stride and Brompton folding bikes on aliexpress for about $100usd but the shipping fee is about $150, so I was hoping to buy it in Asia and bring it back home instead. I'm using folding bikes so I can commute to and from the subway for work =].

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There are some on Lazada for about that price, under the brand name of Chevrolet (licensed from the car company). Dahon are the best cheap folding bike, and the new model is 7,000 Baht if you can stretch that much. They are also sold in Bike shops around Bangkok, the closest one to central Bangkok is "The 2nd Bike" on S. Sathorn Chan area. (look it up on google maps).

As you know, these bikes can run 40,000 Baht in top models, but I would advise to stick with a good Chinese brand at the lower prices.

I've seen similar to the first one in the Mangpong store, Siam Paragon (same floor as the car showrooms).

Siam Discovery, just along from Paragon, could be another possibility.
