PHUKET:-- Water rations will be brought into effect across major residential and business areas across Phuket from Friday (Feb 8 ) as officials struggle to conserve dwindling water supplies in the island’s three main reservoirs until the annual rains return in May.

Wasn't there a large tropical storm rolled thru that part of Thailand a month or so ago? What happened to that rain?

The storm went north of Phuket, we saw very little rain.

Well, that might be the immediate cause, but the root cause is the unbridled development of hotels and condos on the island without corresponding infrastructure improvements.
