Top Ten Signs Your A Moral Idiot

Top Ten Signs your a Moral Idiot

Here's a thread that will, for sure, stir some debate among the left-wing, appeasier crowd! An introduction:

"We live in an age of cognitive dissonance, of inverted values and of true Orwellian doublethink. The Left believes in, amongst other things, gay rights, women's rights and rehabilitation for thieves while also offering moral support to radical Islam, which hangs gays, stones errant women to death and chops the hands off thieves. On the Right, we stand in bewilderment wondering why nobody has learned the lessons of the evil of socialism throughout the last century or understands the threat of totalitarianism in this one"

Have at it, boys & girls! :o

Hijack it then!!!

Either it'll be ignored by the 'cut & run' crowd or...hijacked as a rant against the 'cruel Bushco war-mongers'! :o

OK.

"We live in an age of cognitive dissonance, of inverted values and of true Orwellian doublethink."

I don't.

I live in an age of tom yum, som tam, kee kwai (the lumpy stuff, not the verbal crap) ... suits me fine.

Rather than railing against something that isn't going to change, a good suggestion would be....... leave.

I love he simple life, walk out of the front door, papaya and mango in easy reach, a dozen dogs try to prove that they are my best friend, wifey snoring in bed, the click of the rice cooker finishing the task I set it before I went to the hong nam, little girl rubbing her eyes and saying "Daddy, what time"

I don't live in that age at all......

Throw away your pitiful apathy an act boldly in this crisis!A wise person shows energy and resolve;success is in her power,no matter what.

One should not pry into the fault of others, what they've done an left undone.Consider instead what you yourself have done and left undone.

Oh, c'mon, Boon Mee! Some half-baked political blog is now being put up as fact? I thought we all realised that anyone can put a blog out there - many TV members have them, and I'd hate to see theirs held up somewhere as a statement of fact! No offence, guys & gals... :o

Considering that the 2 points I read on the blog were (IMO) extremist cr@p, I'll answer your point in another way:

I'm sure you are a very nice guy in person, but in the short time I've been in Bedlam, all I've seen from you are political rants, that are either designed to inflame others, or ( :D !) you actually believe. I hope it's the former, but whatever...

So, does not believing in "the world according to Boon Mee" make me a moral idiot?

If so, bring on the dunce cap. I'll happily wear it in perpetuity.

Holy macaroni, Boonie! You ticked off our sweet potato pie. Better make up for it, coz we like our NR in her normal peaches a la mode style.

The Left believes in, amongst other things, gay rights, women's rights

Well, there goes the neighborhood. Give women rights and next thing you know its the collapse of civilization as we know it :o

c,mon Boon, you can do better than that!

He's been around a while but still posts trash, so I reckon the answer is "No he can't"

I don't think women should be allowed to drive. :D

It was pretty accurate though Boon. :D

I think so and what's telling - apart from a few barbs at the 'womens rights' criticism is the lack of refutation on the other major points! For example, "If you stay silent on totalitarian and socialist atrocities while advocating that for the good guys 'War is not the answer' then you're a Moral Idiot (and a bloody dangerous one at that).".

A lot of that going on...i.e. Clinton/Bosnia - EvilBushco/Iraq :o

So then, Boon Mee, war is the answer, eh? :D The answer to our problems? :D You know, it wasn't the pacifists who started world war one, world war two, Korea, Vietnam, ad infinitum, the hundred years war, the thirty years war, the war of the roses, the war of Jenkin's ear (poor Jenkins!), or the football war (those pesky latinoamericanos), the Falklands war. It was the crazy, deranged, insane, immoral, degenerate, right-wing whacko conservatives who don't realize they are much more liberal than the Amish! That Adolf guy with the bad mustache was neither a liberal nor a pacifist....nor were his employees at the German crematoriums....now, if Martin Luther had only listened to the Anabaptists, instead of persecuting them, Germany might have had more pacifists besides Bonhoffer, the guy who thought it was good patriotism to kill Hitler....

I was going to ignore your thread, but c'mon, buddy, do you think that hill that was just taken by you and your warmongering buddies was the moral high ground? :o Of course not; don't be a silly wuss! :D

Well, PB, this thread was initiated for a couple reasons - one of which is to stir debate on the so-called Cultural Revolution that's taking shape around us as we speak. Another reason is something to respond to other than 'Rain'/'Last Word' - type material.

To be continued...

You can be pretty sure that the pacifists backed Chamberlain's decision to capitulate to the Nazis in World War 2. Having no spine is not the answer either! :D

In terms of the war reference - I'm talking about the hypocrisy surrounding the Clinton foray into Bosnia which the libs embraced but when BushCo goes into Iraq...whoa! Clinton = good / Bush = bad... :o

Good effort, but no Churchwellian cigar, Ulysses. Chamberlain's capitulation at that time had lots of support from isolationists who were surely not pacifists. The definition from Greek ( i]irenepo[/i]i) to Latin (pacifisti) means people who actively make peace, not those spineless warmongers who merely let the emperors and presidents order the poor boys off to war, or those unthinking soldiers and their officers who say "Yes, sir, how many times must I kill that poor defenseless enemy, Sir?" The closest you had during the world war two period, to a pacifist saying it was okay to participate in war, was Gandhi, who said (basically) that if you didn't have the courage to stand against your enemy loving him and telling him the truth, with nothing in your hands to kill him, then join the cowards and kill for King and empire.

Spineless describes those who acquiesce to those who tell them to go kill. Having spine and testicles to stand bravely against oppression, is the answer. Google Corrie Ten Boom if you want another example of courage during the Nazi occupation. Or just read her book The Hiding Place if you find it in a used bookstore. Bonhoffer's book The Cost of Discipleship, when he still had the right kind of testicles, is good, too.

In terms of the war reference - I'm talking about the hypocrisy surrounding the Clinton foray into Bosnia which the libs embraced but when BushCo goes into Iraq...whoa! Clinton = good / Bush = bad... :o
Well, some of us who consider ourselves far to the right (almost as far as the Amish) didn't embrace the Bosnia incursion, but I just saw the movie Hotel Rwanda tonight, and I can see some 'justification' - outside of Scriptures perhaps - for intervening against ongoing genocide (and 'we' went into world war two not knowing that the Holocaust had really started killing millions)

Hypocrisy is bad, because it means play-acting, pretending to be doing the righteous thing when in fact you're letting widows and orphans die. Is today's American right-wing and America's neo-con wing hypocritical? Such as, claiming the high moral ground and fooling the Christian right wing into thinking that warfare is righteous?

Just a bit of food for thought Mr G and Boonie if thats possible.

It is the commonly held perception, it's what we get taught in history class, that the US entered the war in Europe to conquer Fascism.

An alternative perception would be that the US entered the war in Europe to stop the spread of Communism, which became a possibility after the collapse of Axis forces in Stalingrad and the Eastern front and also to secure Nazi scientists and their accumulated knowledge for US benefit.

I believe the latter to be true, the US does a great job of hiding it's fascistic credentials,

the Spanish civil War outlined the roles of nations for WW2,

the US and Britain were key supporters of Fascism,

pehaps thats why they never teach us about that in school.

reason for edit; know your history.

Is there anything else you can talk about? ... going out for a few beers with you must be so much fun.

{sorry, nothing worth repeating}

REASON FOR EDIT ... you gotta be trolling ... because there ain't enough yaa-baa in the world to get that delusional. ROTFLMAO! :o

Well Boon Mee another Thailand related thread from you.

A fews comments.

You seem obsessed with this "left/right" thing.

I'm not American so I suppose that translates loosely

as Democrat/Republican ?

Tell me , are we all supposed to define ourselves

according to your domestic bi-polar politics?

You make a mistake I think in your references to

gay rights and women's rights. All people should

have the same rights or did I not read the small

print in the "American way" flyer.

I am concerned about the spread of radical Islam ,

and my thoughts on the origin and application of

that faith would merit a personal fatwa.

But do you really feel your idols have done a good

job in dealing with the threat this poses to our way of life ?

Or

Was the intervention in Afghanistan justified but transformed

into a cluster######.

Was the intervention in Iraq ill advised and transformed into

a cluster###### of cluster######s.

Please advise.

:o

Err Mr Boon Mee sir

Could you answer my post

I know you do the easy ones first but all the same

:D

Yep...the Pets Forum is definitely your cup of tea! :o

Sure Boon why don't you try and come up with something original, you've had plenty of opportunities to defend your god (GWB) but all you can come up with is insults, you're pathetic and it's people like you that give Americans a bad name, so instead of a smartass comment why don't you give us something with a bit of substance, can you do that?

As you perceived, farangsay, the 'left/right' thing does loosely translate as Democrat/Republican although you can't question the Democrats patriotism or so-called support of the troops! :D

Defining ourselves according to the referenced bi-polar politics is absurd. The OP is meant to stir debate with folks personal persuasions a blend of the right & left. But, in order to define the War on Terror, many on the left forget about Al Qaeda's declaration of war in 1996 on the US as well as the Lebanon peacekeepers bombing, the attack on the USS Cole, the attacks on the embassies in Africa that left hundreds dead and the first World Trade Centre attack etc... :o
