The guy had already declated he’s going to pay his own way. You don’t have to donate so why all the name calling. I buy insurance here but it’s high cost and doesn’t even cover for more than 1million baht. It was a scam and I bought it in my 30,s I’ve now got a pre existing condition so I’m stuck with it and to be honest I doubt they would pay out if I needed it. Its all a scam. People who pay taxes here and social fund for Thai employees Like I do should be entitled to the social care system but I’m not allowed to join it. I pay out for everyone else but I doubt I would be covered myself even after buying insurance. Its all good and well calling others when you are young or you havnt needed to use your insurance yet due to a scare that is then labelled pre existing condition. Its a scam so don’t blame the patient. Instead blame the system and the rip off insurers and those treating medical care like a business. "Its all a scam. People who pay taxes here and social fund for Thai employees Like I do should be entitled to the social care system but I’m not allowed to join it." If you are either an employer or an employee here, joining is not optional, not only are your allowed to join but it is mandatory to contribute 1.5% of your earnings, and as soon as you have paid in for 90 days you are entitled to free treatment at at least one government hospital per province. 3

It’s not a subject that I like to dwell on, but I have seen documentaries about people who have attempted to treat their cancer with alternative approaches other than conventional medicine ... the majority of whom died at the end! I’d do my research but ultimately I’d stick with the best professional advice I could afford. 4

And if the limits are set low, well most of those hospital visits could be covered oop anyway. 3 minutes ago, taipan1949 said: Am I the only one who gets tired of these idiots that don't take care of themselves. An informed individual is more likely to survive without big bills. The only patients tracked after receiving Gerson therapy have died within 5 years of receiving treatment, there is not one single case of someone being cured of cancer by this odd quackery of injecting people with raw calf liver, receiving enemas and drinking gallons of fruit juice. Essiac's method has been tested on animals and demonstrated zero cancer cell destroying ability and no known case of a person being cured of cancer using this method. Burzynski's method was once claimed to have cured 4 people of cancer, however when those 4 people were tracked down 2 were already dead and the other 2 had cancer, there is no evidence of any successes. Himalayan apricot kernels were trialed with 175 cancer patients and the cancer grew in all patients, there is no evidence that anyone has ever been cured of cancer by eating these kernels. You cannot "make your body alkaline" without overloading your kidneys to the point of failure, its simply impossible. "If he has chemo or/radiation he is poisioning his body" True, that's kind of the idea. Now just why was it that you recommended those kernels containing that famous poison, cyanide? "An informed individual" is not one who reads joke websites designed to poke fun at the gullible and then repeats them as if they have been 'researching' some new scientific discovery. 4

I would say genes are more or less a level playing field between countries (although some countries have many more people which is an obvious advantage). I do not think it is too big a leap to say in Tiger Woods' case that it was much more about his environment that made him great. It is an interesting topic though. I only brought it up because I think it it easier to see skill levels between athletes when compared to doctors. And again, I am betting the overall skill levels of the top doctors in both countries more or less follows the patterns of each countrie's athletes. And again, I am betting the overall skill levels of the top doctors in both countries more or less follows the patterns of each countrie's athletes. I was musing on this subject the other day. No matter how much training I put in as a youngster, Usain Bolt could do no training at all, and crush me at 100m ... but I’m definitely a better football (soccer) player than he’ll ever be (I’ve seen him play). We all have a physical potential, and can get better with practice, but in sports at the top level genetics wins the day. Aamir Khan is a great boxer, incredibly skilful, but he has a weak jaw and gets knocked out easily. No training can help him with that. I’m sure there are a few world class Thai medics, they are particularly good in the area of transgender surgery (they get a lot of practice) but in general they can’t match up to US healthcare ... as you will have more world class surgeons, not to mention enormous R&D in healthcare.

National Insurance Contributions pay for NHS and your State Pension. To enable a FULL State Pension you have to be contributing for xxx number of years. Any years missed you can make a payment. If you have made Contributions then you are entitled to NHS. The rules slightly changed 2 years ago that you have to be registered with a Dr. As i have already said...Drs do not write to you asking you to confirm if you still want to stay registered with them. Therefore even if someone has lived in another country for xx years they should still have a Dr. That use to be the case in Oz too. Now you have to reside in Oz for two years before getting portability. I. E. home detention before you can take your pension overseas. Don't be surprised when the UK do something similar.
