Leaving with my dog for Canada at the end of the month.  How do we get the dog through security at the gate into the airport?

Take away its cell phone and pocket knife.

You have to take your dog out of his crate. Put the crate on the band with the other luggage and carry your dog inside. Once inside your dog has to go back in his crate straightaway. 
In case, your dog is too heavy to be carried they may allow you to walk him inside.

Thanks so much Nienke.  Should be pretty wild with all the people, my other bags and the crate and the dog.  Hope she thinks it's fun.
