This story relates to hotels, not Air BnBs. If the room is not prepaid, properly managed hotels will take a deposit at booking or upon registration. The deposit is released at checkout. Air BnB does not side with the guest, The AirBnB customer has to make a case backed up with documentation. When AirBnB supports the customer, it is with good reason. For example, violating Air BnB codes, spycams, failing to honour a booking. The host has multiple protections under the Host guarantee program. The host also has the option of taking a deposit prior to booking and occupancy. No different than a hotel deposit requirement. Many of the people who complain about their treatment as a n Air BnB host did not do their homework and understand their obligations as a host. More often than not the Air BnB host will have misrepresented the property. If Air BnB was such a ripoff, it would not be as successful as it is, nor would their be tens of thousands of participants. Yes, their are some bad customers. That's why the prudent host requires a deposit. -

It's possible that the earthen berm had been covered, or partially covered, with concrete. But, the mass of the earthen BERM is what proved to be completely impenetrable. And, it was just like flying directly into the ground. There is just too much that went wrong, including pilot error, etc. -

The berm was known and reported from the beginning via social media. HERE HERE , etc. Any confusion was because there is a concrete structure/wall in the berm, so the plane did hit a concrete barrier, none of which relates to the cause of the crash. WIKI reports: "the flight belly landed long and overran the runway, crashing into a berm encasing a concrete wall that supported an instrument landing system array." Schooners now $12.00! Australia, the lucky country!
There are a lot of people on welfare like this guy, and, like I said in another post, people like this get to vote, so both major parties have to throw money at welfare recipients come election time. There are whole suburbs of house commission / welfare recipient locations. Mount Druitt is / was one of the worse in Sydney. How is this on topic, well, the government has to raise tax to give to guys like this, and what makes up a lot of the $12 cost of the schooner of beer at the pub, tax.
