My subsequent posts on this thread have not mentioned Terry57 again, but instead have just clarified my thoughts on thread hijackers and where I think humour is appropriate.

You, in some sort of hissy fit of hatred towards me have now seen fit to reprint some old threads where I took exception to your patronising attitude. You have chosen not to repeat the first post between us where you called me a gecko not a croc. However, neither reason nor fairness is a hallmark of your contacts with me. I have chosen to largely ignore you since then, apart from an attempt to smooth the waters when it became clear we spent time in the same surf club many years ago.

I could also print here some of the crap you sent to me in several PMs, but , unlike you, I am aware that PM stands for Private Mail and I would not breach the confidentiality of them as you have.

I wish you luck on your return to Australia to qualify for the aged pension so you can live off the taxpayers (after not contributing for many years) in your dotage.

ive been on the receiving end of some wonderful words of abuse by a few certain members.

i used to go on the attack as i love the challenge of verbal sparring when its called for.

but all that ever got me was warnings, but i had some top fun with these guys.

ive even been called a C--T in general forum.

The problem with this fight is that it isn't going to change anything. An internet forum isn't like real life where when someone makes an arse of themselves they run off and hide. Here however they just keep comming back and doing it again and again.

The only answer I can see is some sort of responsible moderator for Bedlam, who can recognise dross and delete it. I say delete because certain posters as well demonstrated on this thread and I think one other "Mood on the Board Deteriorating", have a mission to churn out long empty posts. A vacuous one liner I can ignore but these derail sensible discussion.

Actually if people aren't disrupting other threads I see no problem with Bedlam being looser and a bit silly at times. Plenty of room for everyone. There can be 1000 threads running and if you ignore the ones that don't interest you you won't be bothered by them. I can't see why it's an issue what people are doing here. At least it's less dead than it used to be.

he approached you in a genuine way to have a chat and meet you in person so he could ascertain for himself what you are like of this forum, and there's no better way than eye to eye contact over a nice beer.

also you had been given a very good reference by a mutual contact to both of you so he was interested to meet you.

i had not said anything about you, but he had read our correspondence when we had our words, so he decided the only fair thing to do was to meet you.

if you felt that you did not want to know him because of your animosity towards me, the smart thing to do would of been not to respond to his p/m and ignore him altogether.

he would of then thought, you were indeed a grumpy old crock, but left it at that.

on the other hand you could of meet him in a group atmosphere and he could of possibly come to the conclusion you where a good fellow.

because of your response to his offer of a sociable drink on neutral ground you have made an enemy.

I will tell you that I accepted I may have been a little harsh, and was prepared to mend fences with him before my trip to Phuket. However, he then sent a second PM full of rubbish and insults. And in line with your retrospective advice, I did ignore it, and him, from then on. He has been the one sniping since then and that eventually drew my strong response above.
