many big companies need to plan 2-5 years in advance, yes they will go on trading as normal but the big exporting companies of which many also import components need to know otherwise they will plan for production elsewhere,if you think otherwise then you need help,a solely UK based business it makes no difference but these are not usually your nissans, toyota's,JLR,Rolls Royce,Airbus.,Bormbardier etc who employ 100,000 or more

Yes, and components may probably come from China....Not the EU..

That’s funny. Even the MSM is saying that the lack of Brexit has swung voters against the main two parties, to specifically make it happen? Only in your world does the spin go the other direction.
The Sun : ENRAGED Brexit voters have spoiled their ballots in the local elections - saying all the parties have sold them out
Daily Mail : ‘A plague on both your houses!' Disillusioned voters hammer Tories AND Labour in local elections
Grauniad: Local elections 2019: May says results show voters want main parties to 'deliver Brexit
The Times : Local election results: We’ll sort out Brexit, parties say
Independent: Disillusioned voters have vented their anger at both the Conservatives’ and Labour’s handling of Brexit by spoiling their ballot papers in local council elections.

the fact the voters swung to a pro brexit party and not Ukip says a lot, surely Ukip was the natural party to vote for under the circumstances as predicted they would by teddyboy a few days back.

Ah - OK I should have realized. Voter dissatisfaction with the pace of delivery of Brexit is making them vote for the parties that want to abandon Brexit altogether.

Maybe then, abandoning Brexit is the solution that would suit them best ?

Booked for 120 million euros: British cancel expensive emergency ferries.

Expensive fiasco greets Great Britain

It is also necessary, because it will be expensive for Great Britain in any case. From government circles it says that the termination of the contracts could cost the equivalent of 58 million euros. But that's not all. The operator of the Eurotunnel felt ignored in the tenders and filed a complaint against the contract, which earned him £ 33m. Further costs are to follow.

No. Quality components do not come from China.

Quality components come from trusted sources, from the EU, where "what I said and promised" equals good quality products.

I guess it's self evident that the British people do not want Britain to leave EU.

Too bad, it's happening as long as British MP's are afraid to be leaders and do their job to simply stop Brexit by revoking Article 50.

They have power to do so. But do they have strength to do so?

The reason that politicians on both sides have gone against their own judgment and backed Brexit is a fear of a backlash from their own constituents and losing their seats at the next election.

Cameron reacted to local elections which produced a big swing to UKIP, from the Conservatives, causing him to fear the same at the next general election, which would have produced a Labour government if the swing had been repeated. His reaction was to call a referendum which, he assumed, would sate Conservative voters who had defected to UKIP without actually producing a leave vote.

In the current local elections, voters have sent a very clear message, the Conservative party were by far the biggest losers and they have been the party doggedly pushing Brexit, no matter what the consequences. Labour suffered much smaller losses but they haven't been at the vanguard of either the leave or remain campaign, but on balance, particularly with Corbyn, quietly supporting Brexit. UKIP also lost ground and the facts there don't need stating.

The big winners have been LIb Dems and the Greens who have both unflinchingly supported remain throughout. The message was crystal clear to MPs. If you want to keep your seats at the next election, back the remain campaign. The people have spoken. They now realise what a disaster leaving the EU would be for the UK and want an end to this Brexit nonsense.

Hopefully MPs will now take heed and either revoke Article 50 or, at the vey least, call for another referendum, confirmatory vote, call it what you will. Given the local election results, the result of that vote is a no brainer.

Brexit posters on this forum, have known this all along, which is why they have screamed blue murder at any suggestion of another referendum.

Which goes to serve my point. Brexiteers, rather than argue their point with facts, which they are incapable of doing, much prefer to throw out some inane and childish one liner. It's the only game they've got.

I'm not arguing a point. Just giving my verdict on your opinion.

You're not arguing a point because you can't. Wasn't so much my opinion, rather a list of inarguable facts.

There's a lot of that going on in these threads, particularly (IMO) from remainers. All they achieve is to stifle debate & drive reasonable posters away. I accept that there are some plonkers on the other side too & I dare say some might place me among them if they're unable to differentiate between a serious post & banter/humour.

Your post consists of your opinion ... no facts. So nothing to argue about. HAND.

So the reasons I gave for Campbell calling a referendum wasn't a fact?

The showings of the various parties at the recent local elections and the swings for and against them weren't facts?

The support, for or against Brexit, that those parties have shown, weren't facts?

You really need to up your game, if you have one.
